Lost Language

I wanted to apply for Rivin to begin learning Inandoth, the lost Lysanrin language. I wrote into his background and in various solos about his childhood that his mother used to sing him old songs in the language but did not speak it herself. He has been fascinated with it since he grew up and realized the songs in his head were in the language of his people.

He has the resources and a background in research to search libraries and other scholarly and historical text or places for this knowledge and is willing to travel to obtain more than Kalzasi holds if he can't find enough information there. I intend to write out his quest to find his native tongue, which I can do alone or with moderator assistance as preferred.

Hi there!

I think you mean Akiroth. Inandoth is a live language that is spoken primarily in the Republic of Cathena and in parts of the Free Cities where Lysanrin congregate (i.e. Zeraphesh). With that being said, what are some ideas you have in mind concerning Rivin's search for Akiroth?

I did mean Akiroth, whoops.

The required contents of his quest were part of what I was asking about. I can have him go from city to city looking through old libraries if the information might be there, I can have him exploring the Warrens or other dangerous places (clockwork wastes/other ruins etc) if those would be more realistic in the quest. It makes sense that he would visit Zeraphesh to speak to others of his own race, even if that is a dead end, he wouldn't know that before he went.

This quest will be the next step of his life, basically, and I didn't want to just make up where the information was myself since I know that you have secret lore associated with the race. I am not requesting access to any secret lore as part of this, though if you think it would be required for him to find the language I would be okay with that.

I'm not 100% sure what info you're asking for, would you like me to make a plot break down by points/threads that I have in mind?

You answered my question in the course of your explanation. I think to begin this quest, there will need to be some exploration of where Rivin currently resides followed by a venture to Zeraphesh.

Stage One
-Inquiries at the major Kalzasi Institutions (i.e. Academy, Circle of Spells, House Zatrian, House Briathos)
-Discovery of individual(s) with knowledge of someone who may be an expert in Lysanrin history
-Seeking the Expert

Stage Two
-Finding the Expert in Lysanrin history
-Discovering pieces related to deciphering the language
-Making a breakthrough that leads to discovering something major, possible a trove of ancient Lysanrin records

Stage Three
-Reaching the supposed trove of ancient Lysanrin history and discovering what is there which would include methods of learning and deciphering Akiroth

I am so sorry. I read your reply and was like "Yes, this all sounds great!" in my head, somehow missing the last word of your reply.

It all sounds great! I will be writing out the exploration and searching within Kalzasi first. I'll post the threads to this request in case anyone wants to review them. Once Rivin is ready to move on to Zeraphesh I'll ask to see if you have guidance or inserts.
