Hello! So I’ve discussed this a bit with Chronicle and Paragon via DMs, but this is just to make the plot official. I wanted to run a sort of starter to Euripides in which she escapes from the Legionnaires (as she has been conscripted) and makes it back to the city of Kalsazi. However, there are several key points to this — which is what has been discussed.
  1. In order for her escape to be possible, she is possessed by a wraith.
The general idea is that a wraith possesses her, giving her a means of escape, by pushing her body beyond its limits. She will ultimately suffer for this, as there is simply no way there won’t be consequences for it. However — this moves into the next point, but it still within the same point: she becomes possessed by multiple wraiths.
They are all of the same type — Despair — which is detailed in the Warren codex with the following information:
    Frequency: Common
    Threat: Above Average
Abilities: Paralysis, Vitality Draining, Shadow Manipulation, Illusion

Info: Despair Wraiths remain the most dangerous of the wraiths that haunt the First Deep. This is not due to any overwhelming power but because of how subversive its presence can be. Despair wears away at the spirit and psyche of those who face it, crippling them with inaction, with the loss of will, with a desire to be ended.

Those entrapped by a wraith of despair perish not in a glorious confrontation but in a slow, gnawing death that eats away at them day after day until they are husks with neither life nor soul. It takes a stalwart heart to stave off the effects brought about by the Despair Wraiths and even then, they can wear at the resolve of the individual if prolonged exposure comes into effect. Fortunately, the Despair Wraiths tend to travel and haunt the deep reaches of the Warrens alone and are seldom accompanied by any significant threat. Travelers are advised to be wary of dark, silent places devoid of normal subterranean life. Especially if the darkness seems all too impenetrable.
There would be no more than three within her, all fighting for dominance until she reaches the Midden, basically making her a host for the spread of their concept. A carrier for a disease of despair, so to speak.
  2. She pretty much spreads a supernatural creature’s agenda by allowing them to transfer from her body.
Because of her possession, and the need for the wraiths to spread their concept, she will have the same need. This being, that she will pass her possession onto another person. One wraith leaves her body to enter that of another person, and essentially people-hop as the body is used up. This would leave her with two within her, and from that point she leaves the Midden after realizing what is happening. However — she enters the city with those two remaining wraiths possessing her.
Obviously, it will be up to moderator discretion on how this affects the city, but with Despair wraiths running around, she might draw a good deal of attention. I’m currently debating on whether she has one more wraith possess the husband of her dead lover in her history as a sort of payback for all that has lead up to this point. From there, she is left with one wraith that she will need to have exercised.
Euripides will be irreversibly affected (at least mentally, not sure about phsyically, but that’ll be fun to test) by her time as a host to more than one Despair wraith.
  3. Excorised via dragonshard.

It is suggested in a line of the Rage wraith writeup that exorcism of these spirits is possible via dragonshard.
It is rumored that there is some manner of dragonshard that is capable of repelling the rage spirits but whether or not this is true is something that only the most experienced of explorers are familiar with.
Talking to Chronicle, he informed me that one of his PCs has a dragonshard that might be capable of this, which also go into a plot for that particular PC. If this is not possible, I’m totally fine with finding either an NPC or PC with necromancy high enough to perform the exorcism.
From here, the plot is very fluid, but her time possessed definitely changes her for — definitely not the better. I am perfectly fine with tweaking anything that needs to be tweaked and mod intervention at any point! The start of this (from Warrens to Midden) will likely consist of a series of solos. If I have to submit them here in this ticket, I am also fine with that!

Title: Chief Author of Ransera

I think this is an excellent thought process and is a plot that has the potential to yield some very interesting and fun stories! It has my full support. Please be sure to coordinate with the Kalzasi moderation staff for specifics on what is and is not viable within their city.
