Sivan nodded at those thoughts she shared. He was the sort who thought about possible challenges on and off for a long time before having to act on them and, as he had said, he didn't know if Tyrann's invitation had been in earnest. The Neptori diplomat seemed quite generous with such things, but perhaps because he knew few would take him up on them. Of course, he didn't know him well enough to know that for sure, but that had been Sivan's experience with people.

Even with Akantha herself—he thought she was the type who didn't make offers she wasn't prepared to back up. If he had never quit Silfanore with Master Tavári'nar, he might have been delighted to leverage the Princess as a patroness, uncaring that such a patroness would invariably have influence over the sort of Maker he became. Not that she would be a bad influence, but now he was used to charting his own course and didn't want to give that up.

As for the spirits, "I don't like to speak of them like children," he began slowly. "I haven't lived long enough to watch spirits evolve on their own. I know I have been able to shepherd them into greater complexity and power, though, and there is something of growing from childhood to adulthood there... These three spirits were virtually identical to me when I found them, and I have been working with them for some short while. They don't have full personalities yet, but whatever they are developing..." He laughed softly. "I imagine them as identical triplets, and having each other around while they develop is having an effect. I am told that with elven twins, often one will become the leader and the other the follower even if only between themselves.

"This one we see as shy might not be shy at all. They might simply be more cautious, used to observing the others rather than jump in themselves. So, are they shy or are they cleverer than the others? Fire tends toward blazing... I haven't met a fire spirit who I would call shy, not one complex enough to have what we would recognize as a true personality. Perhaps this one just has more inborn wisdom. Perhaps it will be the fire content to burn slowly, whereas another might delight in wildfire.

"Which is to say, I would withhold judgment for now. I will continue to work with these three regardless, and those that do not become your firebird will probably work with me still." He smiled. "You needn't feel as though you are relegating any spirit to death. Or neglect."
