Appearance
As a Zhal Moratallen half breed, Dakkur stands above most of the people he runs into, the only reason they might get an inkling of his parentage. However those familiar with the giants would end up abandoning the idea as the unusual dark red skin owing to the Bloodborne Lysarin of his father's side departs too far from the usual appearance of the lumbering giants; a more likely explanation for them to entertain is they have met with a native of some previously undiscovered exotic land especially when expectations for the race meant they are unable to believe the very same giants could be hurt enough to be stuck with a limp under normal circumstances. Preferring to stick to what he is familiar with, he is usually found wearing the usual Zhal styles of leather and fur only departing for stylistic choices or practicality which was a rarity since Zeraphesh was so confortable to him.
Personality
Dakkur is a pleasant man with a zeal for life, a flavor he took to from his family's trade of plying in "wishes and desires" as would be described by many in Zeraphesh; the similarities making it quite easy for him to assimilate himself with a close family ally he now has asylum with in Zaichaer. However in his whimsy and carefree nature is also a observant and opportunistic individual as would be expected from someone used to seizing the minutest opportunity to close a deal.
History
While nameless outside of Zeraphesh, the Doelish are a historied family recognized by the inhabitants of the city as; unlike other famous families known for their contributions to Zeraphesh's famed fields of glassmaking, elemental stones or discoveries of precious items or knowledge from ages past, the Doelish was a family which was simply 'there' although the idea is an understatement of the family's activities. Exploring any given year, decade even, it's apparent to the attentive the Doelish are always ahead of the trends as they pave the next big thing right into its heart.
This coveted success can be traced to the family's founding with Dakkur the latest in line to continue the tradition, adding to the myths of genies in Ransera. Dakkur realized as he aged with knowledge of summoning and runesmithing it was quite the hustle and, only possible because most people were more concerned the fulfillment of their desires instead of the too good to be true existence of hidden spirits waiting to honor whatever request to the best of their ability. That was how the Doelish built themselves: mastery of their craft, a little bit of Aether and, some poor sap whose wishes become the family would exploit.
It should come as no surprise the family throughout the ages learned to take precautions to distance themselves from this practice or at least, to the public eye; there is always someone to blame even if wishes were granted, especially if the wishes were not what they wanted as the old stories went. Dakkur himself participated in plenty of local archaeological digs although not being able to contribute much it was more important he used the act itself to increase his prestige rather than any result of increasing the family coffers. This made the recent development for the Doelish quite problematic as the one reason why anyone would make a play for the family, at least with scale of planning and organization involved. For Dakkur however much of what transpired was unknown as he was assisting a local dig, only to return to a deserted and cleared out Doelish estate.
However the Doelish being no strangers to intrigue and the shadows themselves prepared for such a eventuality; their orderly retreat from Zeraphesh made it easy for Dakkur to find the messages hidden within a cipher left for him among the remnants the rubes left alone, the same added in their creations for added mystique and authenticity. It took Dakkur a little over a week to piece together and decipher the clues which led him to the hidden cache left behind with his instructions and some essentials to work with. His last bit of work in the city done as the summoning jar he found the spirit guide his father left him, The Pian, filled him in on the whole event. A lot less exciting than the large battle he imagined with coin grubbing mercenaries, spell slinging and lots of carnage but at least a relief it was nothing his family couldn't recover from.
Not even Pian knew where the Doelish were as to the best of his knowledge, which was also deliberately limited since he was under orders to brief whoever found and brought him up, most of the family scattered until such a time they recovered and prepared enough to reassemble and strike back at their adversaries. However instructions for Dakkkur was clear. Skip town. With the evidence that other spellcasters if not competing summoners were involved requiring Dakkur to hide out where he is less likely to run into mages, Pian's own experience and knowledge of the world which Dakkur was going to have to rely on, clothes only suited for the region Zeraphesh was in and, protection otherwise rare in itself, Dakkur's next destination was narrowed down so well it may as well have been picked for him.
But that was enough for him to get himself on with the next caravan out of of the unforgiving unforgiving desertlands and unto a safe place he could return to as home.
