On the morning of 18 Hunter's Bounty (the day after The Sælyan Fête) a courier dressed in the red and gold livery of House Sol'Aværys appears at the Umbrian residence of Senator Janus Val'Sælyan. He comes to deliver a missive upon perfumed parchment, which bears the seal of the Luxian Royal House, and is addressed to "Dominus Janus Senator et Æros Senatorus Mortuus". He insists that both of the recipients be present to read the letter together, and will not deliver the message until both are present to receive it.

To the Paterfamilias of Gens Val'Sælyan and its hapless posthumous senator:

Word has reached the Blazing Palace of your recent bid to have Æros reinstated to the Senatus Umbrarum and of the daunting hurdles that stand athwart that ghostly goal. I know not whether last night's Sælyan soiree was sufficient to allay the concerns of the Umbrian aristocracy, but whatever the case, know you this:

If Gens Val'Sælyan will renounce their fealty to the Draconic Crown in favour of the Elven, I will personally endorse Æros to claim a seat in the Luxian senate. There is work to be done in the Upper City, and we are in need of bold voices and keen minds. If Æros has, indeed, been singled out by the Founders, Holy Be Their Whims, then House Sol'Aværys will not cast him aside as blithely as would our undercity counterparts.
