3 Searing, Year 124

[Continued from here.]
With Rickter out for the count, Hilana and Lia had headed to the kitchen to take stock of what was needed for her braised goat. She had brought jars of spices from home before as a gift, and with Lia watching, Hilana took inventory. It would be smarter if she could see what she needed before they went off to the market for everything else. This would take a bit of time to prepare, but this way she had everything on hand before she got started, and what they didn't have, they could surely pick up in one of the stalls. She knew Kalzasi liked spice; and there had to be enough similarities to be able to pick up what she needed.
Hopefully, someone had goat, or she was going to need to jump home and go to the Port Vasta district market and get a goat shoulder. Lykos had always loved that, and with luck, Rickter, sound asleep and effectively dead to the world as he was, would too. The spices and scents had to be enough to jolt him, and goat was one of those meats that could stand up to a lot of spice. With the amused kitchen both looking on and happy to help, she investigated the jars that held the assortment of spices. Some got opened and smelled, and while she could use Semblance for it, she felt it wasn't entirely necessary right then. She would if she was confused on something, but her nose and eyes told her everything that she needed.
Fortunately, they still had preserved lemons from the last batch that she had brought up when she had been showing Telion some of the Solunarian cuisine that Rickter had gotten accustomed to at the other end of the world. Allspice, cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, clove, cumin, nutmeg... perfect. And there was plenty of it. There was enough of the preserved lemons and the spices that she could see what they had in the market for meat, and if anything, get two. If Rickter hadn't eaten in a few days, Hilana had no doubt he could polish off the better part of a goat shoulder by himself, and probably have room for seconds and thirds. Telion had said that his latent Negation magic was still active, which meant there was still an aetherial pull, however slight though it may have been.
