Request for Path to Grandmastery.

Is this a skill that defines the character? Is it something that you can imagine them without? As the wingless twin, Kala was raised along with her winged brothers, but was given more instruction in more erudite practices as it was assumed she would not be able to keep up with them without wings. Hence, she started as a young scholar and began the game with Scrivening to be cleverer with her Elementalism, whereas Kaus was equipped with more battle magic.

How often do they use the skill? If it is something used infrequently, it is likely not a candidate for Grandmaster. Kala is often subtly using it to augment her other magics, and has frequently used it to help other world mages with their work, as well. She collaborated with Lyra to create a grimoire, and with Torin to create his own runeforging equipment and also to augment his runeforging projects. She used it to create her own necromancy tools.

What efforts has the character put into developing their own perspective and unique approach to using the skill? What is their trademark use of it? Semblance and Scrivening are magical skills that she has always used in conjunction with other magics. If granted access to a path to grandmastery, I want to move her toward something like "logomancy" or word magic. Being divine and capable of acts of archmagic in certain situations, I want her to start understanding the structure of magic in terms of words/concepts, and while she pieces together what that means at first, she will eventually be able to reduce what she wants to do magically down to a "glyph" or "sigil" that uses scrivening to combine her magics effectively. (eg, she sees a defunct golem, and combines say, elemental electricity and semblance via scrivening into a complex concept wrapped up into a "word" that releases the spell; a person sees her point at the dead golem and brings it to life, but what she's really doing is sembling what's wrong, and then weaving lightning into a complicated pattern to restore its systems.)

Is this a skill that others immediately attribute to the character? If not, consider fostering a reputation involving its use. Her collaborators certainly do, but she's not a braggart. I do believe people attribute scholarship and magical esoterica to her, which the scrivening falls under.

How have you used the skill in your writing to impact not just your own character but others? See above specifically with Lyra and Torin. It also plays heavily into the Paragon-moderated threads regarding the southern tower, the Elliador Gate, and the pursuit of unlocking Garel's grimoire.

I think that this is a fascinating path for Kala to follow. I like the concepts you've proposed and I am certainly intrigued. I look forward to seeing more!

This is approved.
