Curving from the front to the back, the scar looking like a split across the middle of his shoulder. Dirty blond hair, brushed back with the sides shaved. Pulled into a braid that reaches his shoulder blades. A rune with a deep purple glow is marked on the side of his head. Curving around to the back of his head and running down his neck. Pale blue eyes matching with his skin.
Like the others of his race, Rien possess a large set of wings. Strong enough to be able to carry him in his armor. He possesses full control of these dull grey wings.
Personality
A compassionate soul encased in the body of a warrior. Trained from birth as a warrior. Rien knows of strength and pride, though the man’s passion comes from helping those around him. A kind hearted man looking to help those in need. Rien will go out of his way to help those who need it. Though he has been burnt for it time and time again, the man continues to do good by himself and that of his House. Born to the Novalys family, Rien strives to be a role model much like his older brother.
Though he lacks the interest to lead his people as a ruler. Rien understands the duties he holds to his family and the people. Acting as a guide in times of need, Rien has been trained on how to handle people.
Rien’s word is his law, if he says that he will help someone. He does so even if it costs him in the end. Not one to judge based off of meeting someone for the first time. He will often forgive someone if they’ve done him wrong. Though even his patience has a limit.
History
Born as the second son of his family and third in line for the throne. His birth, like others in the city of Kalzasi, was a cause for celebration. His father held a feast for the blessing of having a second son. The blistering sun shining above them as the celebration went on.
Trained in the ways of Avialae royalty and a warrior. Rien grew up with a sense of pride and strength. Being taught to protect those who could not protect themselves and help those who needed it. Where his brother was taught to rule, Rien was taught to support. To aid his family and that of his people with every ounce of blood and sweat he had.
Rien grew with a passionate soul. Caring and helping for all those that he could. Trained in the ways of battle. Rien took a liking to the use of a spear and shield. Prefering to disarm his humanoid opponents as opposed to causing major damage. Often sneaking away to the edges of the city proper to bring food to those who needed it. Often to be brought back to the palace with a smile on his face and hands empty.
Upon his coming of age, Rien took to his own Warren March. A group of Fourteen boys sent out with only six returning. Earning his right to be counted among the men of his race.
A few years later after coming of age. Rien had saved up every coin that he could from odd jobs and bits. Saving it all up to eventually buy a tavern of his own. A place where people could come and share drinks and stories. A place where healthy competition could be watched and betted upon. A place for Rien to have a glimpse of the world outside of his home. Talking and battering with strangers filled his day as he worked to improve his own skills.
Eventually meeting a man that called himself Markos Santias. The two shared stories and drinks for several weeks after. Forming a bond between them as Markos stayed within the city walls. A mage in his own right that used his charm and its to help people, and himself in the process. As the two became closer curiosity took over Rien’s mind as he asked about the magic that Markos had possessed. As the seasons rolled through the two continued as friends. Markos telling him about his magic and his travels and Rien providing him with a place to stay and a friend within the city. Eventually Markos offered to pass some of his magic onto Rien’s. To teach him in the ways of magic called Mesmer.
Informing him of the ways of the power and the potential that it has. Instructing him on the potential danger and the changes that would come with it. Rien agreed and a season later he was initiated into Mesmer. The threshold sickness working against his body for a weak. Hidden away from his family in his tavern for those days before rising back to his ‘normal’ self. The glowing rune making its way down the side of his head and the back of his neck. The Markos continued to teach and advise Rien for the seasons to come. Helping him learn how to use his powers and potentially protect himself from himself and others.
In present times, Rien trains with and aids the Skyguard with their duties. Spends time running his tavern and spending time with his family as much as he can.
