At first, Æros wasn’t entirely sure by what form he’d be granted this information, but with the file floating from servus to princeps, the method would soon become apparent. The possessed Vastiana leaned forward in her seat, resting her elbows on her knees with hands drawn together and fingers knitted as Arvælyn began his account of what he’d learned, and as he spoke, the expression she bore would change a few times. Always would the deceased patrician present curious, but the first shift would come at the notion that his father was the only Fæ’ethalan within the group he traveled, then at the notion that his Aura was tagged for whatever reason, and finally at the name of he who filed the complaint. His expression drifted from puzzled intrigue to surprise, and he’d finish off the glass he’d been holding onto while the other spoke.
Æros collected the floating document before he began his response. “It’s strange on the surface that a Fae of the Winter Court would travel so far south in the first place, from what I’ve read, but stranger still that one would do so with no other Fae within his company,” He would say at first, brow furrowed in thought. “Culturally, the Winter Fae look down upon the other races and their settlements tend to stay markedly isolationist– I wonder if he was born outside of one? Or…” he trailed off. “I’d say ‘perhaps the man wasn’t a Fae at all,’ masked by something particularly esoteric, but then…I am Fae by blood, so…” he’d trail off again, though he couldn’t find an answer; too many unknowns.
But further did the girl’s expression shift to befuddlement. “Why in the world would Janus have had them removed?” Æros sighed. “Every member of my family old enough to remember my father's presence has kept collective silence, even the ones who’ve been remarkably soft on me of late– and if I broach the subject, I get either uncanny silence or claims that they don’t remember, but nobody will relent, and I dare not try and Mesmerize them.”
“Pushing the subject always upset my mother, and it’s the one thing on which she and Janus are in full agreement. His is a hand I daren’t bite; without his kindness, I’d’ve…likely not been able to turn my life around last fall, and now, in this...unlife...I am ever the more reliant on him, I…” The spirit cut short.
Shaking his head, “...but I needn’t bother you with yet more of my personal quandaries. Thank you…this was a gift. If you’ve any further questions, I’ve no qualms answering, otherwise I won’t steal away more of your time.”
