68 Searing, Year 124

"You are insane," Lia told her dryly. "I've said it before and I will say it again, Hilana... you are insane. Why would you want to climb that?" They were looking at a fairly sharp cliff, and the ledges looked challenging to her. Her sister was a master Elementalist. This was wholly unnecessary. If she was that concerned, she could get a little terrasyte and keep it on hand. Practice with it, learn to use it, and then she had a reasonable fail safe rather than practicing hauling herself up rock faces that she had no business climbing. She was no spider.
"Why not?" Hilana looked back at her, squinting up the cliff. "It's called the Hag's Tooth for a reason. Worst case scenario I need to use Elementalism in order to make sure I don't fall. But it is good exercise and good practice," she knew she didn't have to justify this to her sister, but part of the challenge was most decidedly not using Elementalism on it. She enjoyed climbing; always had. Trees, buildings, cliffs. Part of the fun was confronting her own boundaries and the limitations of her skill and body. If you never got out of your comfort zone, you could never grow.
Lia pulled a face at her. "I'm just going to buy you a terrasyte and you will be fine rather than trying to go up and down these things. You don't even have anything to anchor yourself. You also don't know what's lurking up top. There might be a wyvern waiting for a snack. And even if you do get to the top with the Mask, that's a considerable distance from me, and the protections will fade," she pointed out, folding her arms.
"You'll be fine. You are a master Elementalist too, Lia, and it won't be long. I'll be right up there." Hilana protested.
