One Cat Leads to Another [Solo]

In which Hilana takes Lia to the Plane of Light and goes chasing exotic cats.

The Luxium represents the upper half and primary seat of the Solunarian Capital and one of the dual-cities that comprises Solunarium Proper. Situated between the foot of the volcanic Mount Sorokyn and the wide River Vasta, this above-ground metropolis boasts five thriving districts beneath the shadow of the glorious Palatium Furiarum (The Blazing Palace) from which the Solar Court rules in splendour. This bustling metropolis is by far the most populous region in the realm and, along with its shadowy sister-city the Umbrium, houses upwards of eighty percent of the Solunarian population at any given time. During the reign of a Solar Court, every major government agency in the kingdom is headquartered in the Luxium, with the notable exception of The Silver Sentinels, the covert intelligence agency run by the House of Phaedryn-Sol’Aværys.

Vasilei had been kind enough to put the spells they needed to get to and from the Plane of Light into lodestones for the Chenzira sisters, and on their shared day off, Hilana and Lia had enjoyed breakfast together before venturing off on what was going to be a bit of an adventure for both of them. Lia was looking forward to Attuning to the rare Element, and when she was done, the two of them were going to track down the Sunsabers. The younger of the pair had seen one at a distance when she had been here with Finn over a year ago, and considering the Sentinel was busy with all kinds of missions and tasks, Hilana hadn't wanted to bother him along for something like this.

He might have been able to have smoothed the process with his Mesmer, but at the same time... she was confident in her abilities when it came to animal handling, and considering how these cats were, she didn't want to cheapen this and set off on the wrong foot with magical tricks when bribery usually did the job. She'd packed a number of meaty delicacies; from sandcock to goat to great fishes from the sea to eels. All of them were wrapped up in her Featherlight satchel, and each of them had been warded against spoiling by Lia, who had wanted to test her abilities. She had had notes on the methodology for it from Vorenus, one of their father's employees, who had utilized such a trick regularly while they were travelling. It likely wasn't necessary in the satchel, but Hilana was bound and determined to impress these cats.

They had arrived and settled where Hilana and Finn had had their picnic, and she practiced her own meditation while Lia silently focused on her own attunement. It was good to simply commune with the spirits and creatures around them, and enjoy their presence as they ventured around the pair of elementalists.
