Name: Toa Dora
Habitat: Jungles of Ecith often near dragonshard deposits.
Rarity: High
Threat: Overdose, other fruit eaters

Description: A strange and foul smelling fruit with translucent skin housing an interior seed pod that almost seems to pulse and contort slowly as if it were a living organ. The Fruit is layered. The outer skin which is covered in a sticky and foul smelling tar like sap. This skin is tough and the sap on it is an irritant, sticking to exposed flesh and fur causing very itchy rashes that can last for a couple of days, furthermore the stink clings for a similar amount of time.

Inside the outer layer of flesh is an abundance of extremely slimy liquid that smells faintly of aloe and limes. This liquid is the opposite of that tar that covers the surface of the fruit in that it is edible and almost clean smelling. That paired with the fact that it retains its moisture and dries very slowly makes it a desirable lubricant for many applications. The mildly sweet liquid is also a candidate for distilling and is the main ingrediant for a popular Ecithian wine called Dora Ororo.

Finally suspended within the slime is a seedpod. the seeds of the Toa Dora are fleshy and delicious having a far more concentrated amount of flavor of the fluid it bathes in tasting strongly of Aloe Limes and slightly of menthol.

Biome Role: An unpopular fruit with most fauna of Ecith due to the rough hide and irritating sap this fruit is covered with paired with its foul smelling exterior its only natural predators are the giant hummingbirds with beaks made to pierce the Toa Dora's flesh and suck out their nectar. Orkhan who witnessed this over time also learned to harvest the fruit with time.

Diet: Aetherite and water

Aging & Reproduction: The Toa Dora takes about fifteen years to mature. They can live well into their thousands growing to reat sizes expected of the trees of Ecith, though the trees are ill suited to habitation to anything with a sense of smell. The seeds if left alone with eventually dry and harden looking not unlike the scrotum of an elder by the time they are ready to fall and become a new trees.

Size: Cantaloupe to watermelon sized these heavy fruits are 60% liquid when ripe. Not particulalry easy to transport as they shape distorts due to the flexible flesh and mostly liquid interior.

Abilities and Features: Irritating sap and tough skin. The sap has been collected and used to make a potent and foul smelling liquid used for traps and tracking. the distinct odor can carry for miles when prepared by an alchemist. The hardy skin makes for decent water skins when prepared correctly.

The sap can be washed off of the fruit with any mild alcohol mixture. This is 99% of the time the first step in preparing the Toa Dora fruit as the sap can ruin the rest of the fruit if any comes into contact with the fruits interior. As soon as the sap is washed away the foul odor leaves with it.

The interior fluid of the Toa Dora is mildly antiseptic and extremely slippery, other than tasting decent it has no further properties.

The interior seed pod stores an incredible amount of energy, consumption of these seeds in the ill or wounded spurs cellular regeneration and growth significantly wounds to the flesh have their time cut to a quarter of their normal healing time. People say that the fruit makes on body feel very warm as it works on them, a feeling that starts roughly an hour post ingestion and tapers away over the next six hours. During this time people report feeling as alive as the jungle around them. The consumption of this fruit in healthy individuals increases regeneration in the reproductive organs when the body requires no other healing. This has led some to believe that the fruit actively wants to create life. Many triplets and the rare Quadruplets are blamed on this fruit by the Orkhan, making it particualrly popular in some circles
