His hair serves as a stark backdrop, accentuating the intensity of his gaze. A gaze that often holds the glimmer of quiet contemplation, like a still pond reflecting the mysteries of the night sky.
Both of Klaus's arms are canvases for intricate tattoo sleeves, masterpieces of ink that pay homage to the natural world and his arcane connections. These tattoos are not mere decorations but woven tapestries of symbols and imagery, each line and curve a testament to the depths of his knowledge and the breadth of his experiences. They are living chronicles, etching his journey into his very skin, each mark a story waiting to be told. A saga of reverence, power, and wisdom.

At his core, Klaus is a mage who finds solace and inspiration in the natural world. Despite his profound connection to nature, Klaus is far from naive. He possesses a sharp, calculating mind, constantly assessing situations with a keen eye for opportunity and advantage. His cunning nature enables him to navigate through the complexities of the world with finesse, often staying several steps ahead of his adversaries.
However, beneath his cunning exterior lies a heart of gold. Klaus's loyalty knows no bounds regarding the people he considers family. Whether bound by blood or forged through shared experiences, he will go to great lengths to protect and support those he holds dear. His easy-going demeanor and carefree attitude mask a fierce determination to safeguard his loved ones.
History
Klaus’ earliest memory is the feeling of warm heat on his skin and sandy grains in his mouth. Growing up, he played with his kindred brothers and sisters and also helped his mother, Aelia, with her chores. Klaus enjoyed foraging with the man he called father, Richard, also a fellow Kindred.
When he came of age, Richard and Aelia initiated him into the arcane arts of Summoning and taught him the quirk of the Kindreds, the Mistbreaker. He mostly trained with Aelia as Richard was busy foraging or assisting his fellow Kindred or other mages from other covens. After some time in his training, Aelia saw it fit to initiate him into her other arcane art, negation. She wanted Klaus to be able to defend himself from other mages, especially rogue mages and the malicious spirits that he may encounter.
Aside from training in his arcane arts, Klaus also learned under Richard. Richard taught him various skills, such as cooking, mixology, and brewing. As he grew older, Klaus began interacting more with the general public of Zaichaer.
On that fateful day in Searing of the year 122, Klaus was visiting the Grove when disaster struck. Klaus worked with fellow coven members and The Order to reclaim Zaichaer and dispel the Dread Mists. At one of the reclaiming efforts during the eclipse, an ambushed by a group of shadow creatures gravely injured Aelia. On her deathbed, Aelia projected her past to Klaus using her Aidolon.
Klaus found out that he was born in Solunarium. He also found out that the bedtime stories from when he was younger, about vicious winged creatures called Wyverns, the one-eyed terror of the deserts called Cyclops, the Solar Sovereign, the civil war, and the desert people known as the Vastii, were all real. She told him that he was also a Vastii, a Vastian Patrician. Aelia also revealed that his birth father was called Sergius, a Patrician and the head of the Vespertilio household and that she was also a patrician of the Ignatius household. She also left him her signet ring that Sergius gave. Inscribed with Klaus’ birth name, ‘Aergilius Vespertilio Valeklaus,’ and his unique aetheric signature.
