The Beacon's Rest

Centered just within the commerce square of Light's Reach, where the other small businesses are gathered, is a two-story tall building made out of weathered white stone and cedarwood beams and tiling that support the roof and structure. Decorated with wide, curtained windows to allow in the warmth of light throughout the day, the front door of the premises sits between two brass lanterns, curated with sorcerer's sand to emit beautiful, white flames throughout the entire day and night.

The interior of The Beacon is a double-wide lobby that stretches across the open floor, with tables and chairs that line the center of the room for patrons to gather and sit around. A wooden bar carved and well-oiled from a cypress log is lined along the far side of the wall from the entrance, nestled between two separate doorways that lead to different rooms within the tavern. The left side doorway leads to a hallway where the public restrooms reside, with two privacy privies that are both large enough to host even the largest of Avialae.

To the right of the bar is the doorway that leads into the kitchens, which are packed with cabinets and cupboards to maximize storage potential. A big stony hearth is situated in the corner of the kitchen, large enough to hold several pots and pans over a grill, while meats can be roasted over the heat of the coals. A makeshift sink has been built into the wall near the hearth, utilizing dragonshards to create a tap which drains water from an underground reservoir.

A stairwell within the kitchen leads down into the cellar, where another storage room is lined and filled with food edibles, barrels, and even casks used to store and brew beverages. There's even an access backdoor situated in the kitchen to allow staff to step outside the back area of the premises, where a little table and patio setup within the grass provides a small reprieve from the continuous workflow that fills the kitchens.

On the other side of the bathroom doorway is a stairwell that leads up to the second floor, where a corridor lines the center of the tavern upstairs and doors to personal rooms are numbered on each side of the hall. Further eastward from the stairwell, another bar rests there, but with a large board often teeming with pinned parchments, along with books and other documents neatly lined across the bar itself. A door next to the bar hides an office beyond the threshold, but typically remains closed to the public throughout the entire day.

Toward the western end of the lobby is a lifted platform that hasn't been fully decorated, but is used as a makeshift stage for those who might wish to entertain the lobby guests if they so desire.

Services and Menu

Services

Rooms
Rooms are 10 CP per night and come with a minimum of two single beds, each with a footlocker at the foot of each bed, a dresser situated between the beds, and a bookshelf that is typically empty save for a couple of popular titles often found decorating the shelves within most of them. Lanterns within the rooms are hand-activated, utilizing bronze keys to switch them on and off, and within the corner of each room is a wash basin for cleaning purposes.

Job Board
The Job Desk is usually manned by a representative of the Adventurers Association throughout the majority of the day, with a wide variety of jobs available in the local area surrounding the tavern. Jobs can range from gathering resources to hunting specific entities or bounties, and typically offer substantial rewards depending on the stipulations that are entailed. Members of the Association are allowed to gain access to other jobs not typically open to the common adventurer.

Memberships
The Association is always interested in bringing in new members into the fold; however, adventuring often comes with great risks that many aren't prepared for. While no service fees are charged for memberships, an adventurer who's had their membership revoked might have to pay in reparations to regain their membership status. Therefore, aspiring adventurers need to learn and follow the tenets of the Association, and in the process, they can earn and gain rewards through hard work and effort within the Association.

Information on joining the Adventurers Association can be found here.

The Order of Dawnmartyrs
As the Dawnmartyrs and their Patron are a primary benefactor of the establishment, knights and squires will always be offered a free meal and beverage per day. They also do not have to pay for a room if they require a place to rest for the evening, so long as they can confirm that they are indeed a knight or squire of the Order.

Beacon's Job Board

Although there is already an available Job Board Request that can be found within Kalzasi, usually handled by the Guilds that operate within the city, the jobs found here are more catered to focused errands that adventurers can perform. They still follow a similar principle to the Job Board Request, but they operate on a personalized task created by commissioners around the area. The Association works diligently to research and classify each job request that reaches the board, and ensures any adventurer that accepts a job is well rewarded for their performance.

Guide

Bounty Hunt
Bounties are all the rage amongst adventurers and hunters, especially the ones who have a penchant for blood or simply enjoy testing their mettle.

Escort
Escort jobs typically require the adventurer to guide or protect an interested party, or perhaps their personal belongings, while traveling from one destination to another. It helps when the adventurer(s) participating have a substantial understanding of survival in the wilderness, and a means of ensuring what they're protecting remains safe for the duration of the venture.

Gather
Gathering jobs are straightforward in that the commissioner of the job will require an adventurer to collect something. Typically, this can pertain to resources found in the wild or mere commodities found in marketplaces.
