The Beacon's Rest
Centered just within the commerce square of Light's Reach, where the other small businesses are gathered, is a two-story tall building made out of weathered white stone and cedarwood beams and tiling that support the roof and structure. Decorated with wide, curtained windows to allow in the warmth of light throughout the day, the front door of the premises sits between two brass lanterns, curated with sorcerer's sand to emit beautiful, white flames throughout the entire day and night.
The interior of The Beacon is a double-wide lobby that stretches across the open floor, with tables and chairs that line the center of the room for patrons to gather and sit around. A wooden bar carved and well-oiled from a cypress log is lined along the far side of the wall from the entrance, nestled between two separate doorways that lead to different rooms within the tavern. The left side doorway leads to a hallway where the public restrooms reside, with two privacy privies that are both large enough to host even the largest of Avialae.
To the right of the bar is the doorway that leads into the kitchens, which are packed with cabinets and cupboards to maximize storage potential. A big stony hearth is situated in the corner of the kitchen, large enough to hold several pots and pans over a grill, while meats can be roasted over the heat of the coals. A makeshift sink has been built into the wall near the hearth, utilizing dragonshards to create a tap which drains water from an underground reservoir.
A stairwell within the kitchen leads down into the cellar, where another storage room is lined and filled with food edibles, barrels, and even casks used to store and brew beverages. There's even an access backdoor situated in the kitchen to allow staff to step outside the back area of the premises, where a little table and patio setup within the grass provides a small reprieve from the continuous workflow that fills the kitchens.
On the other side of the bathroom doorway is a stairwell that leads up to the second floor, where a corridor lines the center of the tavern upstairs and doors to personal rooms are numbered on each side of the hall. Further eastward from the stairwell, another bar rests there, but with a large board often teeming with pinned parchments, along with books and other documents neatly lined across the bar itself. A door next to the bar hides an office beyond the threshold, but typically remains closed to the public throughout the entire day.
Toward the western end of the lobby is a lifted platform that hasn't been fully decorated, but is used as a makeshift stage for those who might wish to entertain the lobby guests if they so desire.
